We would like you to see us in action, to hear about our priorities and to feel the warm family atmosphere of Uplands in the boarding houses, the classrooms and the staffroom. Come and enjoy the peaceful charm of the Uplands setting, the country atmosphere, and the fifty hectare campus. We pride ourselves on the friendly ethos that has been the school’s hallmark in the seventy-plus years of its existence. We believe that it is the task of the prep school to give a broad base of knowledge in as many activities as possible, and you will find that our curriculum is varied and exciting. We believe that education extends far beyond the classroom, and our sporting, cultural and extra-mural programme is geared towards giving all pupils wide-ranging experience and frequent opportunities for participation. While focusing on these important dimensions, we also emphasise the important “fourth dimension”, which includes the values of courtesy, consideration and tolerance of others. We aim to develop the confidence and self-esteem of our pupils as well as to realise the potential of each and every individual in the school. Uplands is an Anglican school, and we espouse the Christian ethos. We welcome though, pupils of other religions and welcome all nationalities and cultures.
